Survey Says: Plastic Wins!
After surveying several hundred rental companies and event venues that purchase equipment from us, we found that most local customers that are looking to rent tables for parties and events prefer to rent plastic folding tables. Here is what the results show:
That's quite a difference in popularity between the two types of tables. Over 80% of surveyors said their customers went for plastic. It wasn't as much of a shock to us because we were able to determine if we sell more plastic or wood folding tables, but our customers are not the same as the rental industries clientele. One of our surveyors after answering the poll responded with, "The customers prefer the plastic tables because of look. I prefer wood for durability and cost. You cannot repair a plastic table but you can repair a wood table." Although the cost per table is typically higher for wood than for plastic folding tables, being able to maintain and repair a wood folding table can negate the extra cost and let your company rent them out for longer before needing replacement. We even sell replacement folding table legs designed for plywood folding tables. Some customers in the past have expressed an interest more in purchasing plastic over wood due to the weight of the tables. Rental companies receive feedback daily about the products they rent for events and parties, and their customers share their thoughts about these tables. Most customers say that moving around and arranging these plastic tables are much easier than wood folding tables.
What are some experiences you or your party rental company have had in the past renting both types of tables? Leave your comments in the section below.
