How To Change the Color Seat Pad On Your Wood Folding Chair
If you are renting wood folding chairs to your clients for weddings and parties, the seat pads can begin to stain. Wiping the seat pads down after each rental can help preserve your chairs, but some stains are impossible to remove. It's important to keep your inventory looking like new each customer. If your wood folding chair's seat pad is too stained to rent, you will no longer be able to profit from the chair you invested in. To keep your inventory stocked, you will need to purchase replacement chairs.
The alternative?
Swap out the seat pads. Most suppliers stock additional seat pads that can be purchased separate from the chairs. It's important to note that not all seat pads will fit every brand of wood folding chair. Check with the supplier you purchased your chairs from before ordering. A sample seat pad can be shipped to you to verify that they will work with your type of chair.
Tools Required:
Screw driver or drill
Materials:
Wood folding chair
Start by folding your chair and laying it down so that the bottom of the seat faces up.
Using a screwdriver or drill, remove the screws that hold the seat pad to chairs wood frame.
There is a metal pole that runs horizontally across the chair that fits into the grove of the seat pad. Make sure this is lined up properly when you exchange the seat pad.
Once your new seat pad has been set in place, fold the chair back up and lay it back down so that the bottom of the seat faces up.
Screw the hardware back into the seat pad.
For our brand of wood folding chairs, there is one screw with a metal plate that keeps the metal pole from moving, and another screw with a metal plate to keep the seat pad from shifting.
And you're done! Check out the video below to see a quick example of how to change the color seat pad on your wood folding chair.
